It's has been two tears since I've been on this website, and let me tell you--if there is a "you" out there--what, it's been a long two years. In these past two years, I've grown, changed, screwed up, cried, loved, appreciated, laughed, realized, regretted, enjoyed, and relaxed. Among other things. Things too numerous to count, least of all name.
But most of all, I've learned. I've learned that:
...laughing at your self helps the situation, especially an embarrassing one
...once you begin to take a foreign language, your spelling is shot to hell
...you can't always be the golden girl (or boy)
...it's important to be yourself
...it's hard as hell to figure out who "yourself" is
...being selfish is never fun for anybody
...french fries dipped in ketchup, then ranch is terribly delicious
...people don't always say what they mean
...dropping the extra euro into that stranger's hat will earn you a genuine, thankful, appreciative smile
...because of that smile, you can feel like the world really can be a good place
...the world really can be a good place
...I'm not perfect
...there is no way you are going to get anything done by waiting until the last minute
...knowing you've cheated is a shitty feeling
...regretting your mistakes is a waste of time, but sometimes, you have to do it
...savoring your ketchup is soooooo worth it
...if your friend gets up at a party to sing for everyone, you shouldn't necessarily let him, especially if he'd be standing on a balcony
...letting it go is just easier
...choosing your battles will save you some time and energy
...you need to just randomly kiss someone whom you think is attractive, especially if you'll never see them again, and you don't understand a word they may be saying, and especially if they are looking at you as if you are the most beautiful woman on earth
...choose your political arguments wisely
...you can't be perfect, and you really can't make your friends be perfect either
...it is NEVER EVER ok to allow yourself/your best friend to develope any kinds of "more-than-friends" feelings towards someone they/you have passionately loved/liked/crushed on
...it is never ok to let your best friend date your ex
...it is ok to make the first move--especially if you're female, like me
...some people have egos the size of freaking Jupiter
...it is impossible to get ranch for your french fries at a McDonalds in Paris (for me, at least)
...SYK rocks my socks off!! I love you guys!
...you should always show your affection
...never forget to send a card or flowers to your grandparents who live on the other side of the country
...Five Guys Burger and Fries has some cute staffers
...no, newspaper layout can't be perfect the first time, but it should be
...always remember to think of others
...barnacles have the largest penis to body size ratio known to man
...waiting until the night before to do everything, itsn't size a great idea
...my hips don't look like a box that much anymore
